Detects and correlates installed PHP software packages and active PHP process execution across endpoints using device inventory, configuration data, and system logs to provide exposure visibility for PHP environments.
Detects creation, modification, disabling, or deletion of Windows Firewall rules and profiles using netsh.exe or PowerShell NetSecurity cmdlets. Adversaries tamper with the host firewall to disable defenses, open inbound or outbound paths for tools and C2, or remove blocking rules. This is common in hands-on-keyboard intrusions and ransomware staging. The query matches on file name and original file name to catch renamed binaries, covers both modern (advfirewall) and legacy (netsh firewall) syntax, and labels each event with the action performed to speed up triage.
Detects abnormal PHP execution volume storms, process crashes handled by crash reporters (such as werfault.exe, apport, systemd-coredump), or application error events related to PHP, which may indicate denial of service attacks, exploitation attempts, or severe application instability.
Detects execution of virtualization and container software on Windows endpoints by image name, covering Hyper-V, VMware, VirtualBox, QEMU, Xen, Parallels, WSL, Docker and containerd. Attackers can run payloads inside a virtual machine or WSL instance to hide activity from host-based security tools. Developers and administrators use these tools routinely, so the rule suits inventory and hunting. To triage, check the user, parent process, command line and hash, and whether the host is expected to run virtual machines.
Detects processes rapidly invoking multiple system and network reconnaissance APIs (such as NetGetJoinInformation, NetSessionEnum, GetAdaptersAddresses, etc.) within a short window, which is indicative of automated discovery or reconnaissance activity.
Detects abnormal PHP execution volume storms, process crashes handled by crash reporters (such as werfault.exe, apport, systemd-coredump), or application error events related to PHP, which may indicate denial of service attacks, exploitation attempts, or severe application instability.
Detects execution of various PHP interpreter binaries and evaluates their version regarding the new (CVE-2026-109618 / CVE-2026-109619) if upgraded or fix is needed.
Detects the Inisafe CrossWeb EX service (INISAFECrossWebEXSvc.exe) launching fsquirt.exe, which can indicate potential abuse of built-in Windows utilities following a malicious lure or script execution.
Detects an executable running from the C:\Windows\ directory (excluding known benign applications) that establishes two or more distinct persistence mechanisms within a short timeframe, such as scheduled tasks, registry run keys, or startup folder shortcuts.
Detects Kerberos service ticket principal name (SPN) enumeration or exposure events occurring shortly after the execution of common remote access tools (such as Quick Assist, AnyDesk, ScreenConnect, Atera, Zoho Assist, NetSupport, or LogMeIn) on the same device.
Detects execution of a specific PowerShell remediation script using execution policy bypass, or generic PowerShell activity importing certificates into the LocalMachine\Disallowed store outside of known administrator processes and accounts.
Detects a sequence of events on Linux hosts involving a remote interactive or network logon from an external IP, followed within 5 minutes by root-level process execution, and subsequently within 2 hours by an outbound SSH connection to a private or known attacker IP. Also includes a separate branch for direct logons from known malicious IPs.
Detects process command lines containing Magento database audit strings (cms_block, cms_page) alongside specific loader domains, or network events communicating with these known loader domains.
Detects Salat Stealer dropping and executing copies of Lightshot.exe in trusted directories such as Windows NT, Edge, and Chrome application paths, as well as process spawn chains involving masqueraded Lightshot executables.
Detects the execution of two or more distinct Active Directory discovery, credential extraction, or coercion tools (such as NetExec, Kerbrute, noPac, PetitPotam, SoftPerfect Network Scanner, or Impacket scripts) on the same device within a 1-hour window.
Detects an SSH process establishing local port forwarding to a Unix socket (such as docker.sock) or a path containing a socket, followed shortly after (within 15 minutes) by non-administrative tool access to sensitive files like /etc/shadow or Docker sockets on the same device.
Detects a sequence where a process is launched from or references the hidden /tmp/.x directory (indicative of cryptominer deployment), followed within 30 minutes on the same device by a process-check command (such as ps, top, or htop) referencing XMRig or /tmp/.x.
Detects execution of BlackX UEFI bootkit installer components, renamed helper binaries acting as payloads (such as jcef_helper.exe renamed to googleupdate.exe), or known malicious file hashes associated with BlackX campaigns.
Detects the execution of Microsoft Quick Assist followed by a different remote access tool (RAT) or remote monitoring and management (RMM) utility on the same device within a 24-hour window, which may indicate adversary staging or persistence establishment.
Detects when a web server account (such as www-data, apache, nginx) spawns a shell (bash, sh, etc.), 'su', or 'unshare', which may indicate web application exploitation and post-compromise activity. The query ran without errors in a live tenant.
Correlates per-device reads of .env secret files by utility commands (such as cat, grep, findstr) with subsequent or preceding Prisma Studio or database activity within a 30-minute window, indicating potential credential theft or unauthorized database management tool usage.
