Behavioral hunt for accounts whose non-interactive sign-ins over 30 days are dominated (>=95%) by a single IP using a scripted client (python/aiohttp/httpx/urllib) with no browser. Scripted now requires BOTH no browser AND a scripted user agent, and Microsoft ASN egress is excluded.
Detects a successful device-code sign-in followed within 60 minutes by non-interactive replay from a different IP AND a persistence action (inbox rule, app consent, device add) from a non-original IP. Persistence is now mandatory (inner join) instead of optional, and the retired AADSignInEventsBeta table is replaced by EntraIdSignInEvents.

Detects repeated OAuth device authorization ('device code') grant flow authentication events targeting the same user within a short window, which is indicative of an active device code phishing attempt.
This rule monitors for network and user interaction with known phishing domains that impersonate Microsoft, Outlook, or Teams services. It aggregates data from DNS queries, device network connections, inbound email URL links, and web URL click events to identify potential phishing attempts using a community-sourced watchlist from phishunt.io.
Detects an Entra 'Add device' event within 2 minutes after a successful sign-in from an IP never seen for that user in the lookback window, and where the registration originates from that same new IP (rogue device persistence after token replay).
Detects a successful device-code sign-in whose session is replayed successfully within 60 minutes from a different IP and ASN. Only successful replays count (interrupt codes removed) and Microsoft first-party ASN egress is excluded.
IOC sweep for ARTEX campaign indicators: C2 host, nine proxy IPs, xcai.pro and its subdomains, and the CLAUDE.md URL across Defender, CEF/firewall, DNS and Entra sign-in telemetry. Domains match on exact host or subdomain only, connection types are limited to real connection events, and sign-ins are limited to successes and credential failures.

The following analytic detects instances where Azure AD has blocked a user's attempt to grant consent to a risky or potentially malicious application.
This detection leverages Azure AD audit logs, focusing on user consent actions and system-driven blocks.
Monitoring these blocked consent attempts is crucial as it highlights potential threats early on, indicating that a user might be targeted or that malicious applications are attempting to infiltrate the organization.
If confirmed malicious, this activity suggests that Azure's security measures successfully prevented a harmful application from accessing organizational data, warranting immediate investigation to understand the context and take preventive measures.

Detects credential stuffing in Entra ID sign-in logs: one source IP failing against many distinct accounts within an hour, then succeeding on a small number of them.
This rule monitors Entra ID Sign-in logs for authentication events flagged by risk detections related to anonymizing infrastructure, such as VPNs, TOR exit nodes, or proxies. It identifies successful logins and aggregate sign-in volume from these IP addresses, flagging successful logins as critical due to the potential for valid account abuse through multi-hop proxy chains.

This rule monitors for the addition of new credentials (secrets) to service principals or applications in an Azure/Entra ID environment. It then correlates this event with subsequent mailbox activity (such as accessing mail items, sending mail, or message binding) performed by the application within 7 days of the credential creation. This detection pattern is indicative of potential OAuth application-based persistence and mailbox data exfiltration.

Detects a single identity/IP querying Microsoft Graph endpoints for directory roles, role management, registered authentication methods, applications, service principals, OAuth2 permission grants, and app role assignments within a short window - control-plane reconnaissance mapping privilege escalation and persistence opportunities
